Msgr. Barthe, SJ writes to Mother Veronica & regional superior of India.

1901

04 sisters reached Trichy on 07th January, left Amravati and 10th January reached Trichy.04 sisters along with Mother Veronica and Sr.Suzanne,the Headmistress of the school in Amravati.(Sr. Eugene Porret, Sr. Rosalie Dusonchet, Sr. Emilie Josserand and Sr. Celine Dumoulin).
A small boarding-03rd September, School began with 60Anglo-Indian girls.

1902

A small orphanage (St.Mary’s Home) with 02 girls and Dispensary (run by Sr.Rosalie-she treated and cured patients, selfless service, earned reputation to appreciate the service. Railway gave them the Pass to travel throughout India.
Home science industrial school- separate building-100 orphan girls.

1907

St. Joseph's European Middle School established.

1917

St.Joseph’s European High School.

1901 - 1916

Served as Co-Ed School.

1917

New building with spacious classrooms for girls only-From 05th July 1917.

1947

Renamed from St.Joseph’s European High School to St.Joseph’s Anglo-Indian School. (1901-1954-Headquarters of Provincial House)

1958

Building Was extended.

1961

Diamond Jubilee celebrated.

1962

The visit of Mr.Kamaraj, CM of Tamil Nadu-15th November, 1962.

1963

Mr.G.D.Naidu donated a bus-04th April, 1963.

1966

Visit of Mr.Frank,a new chapel in Cantonment was renovated -07th Dec,1966-to celebrate Final Vows and Jubilee.

1969

Mother Marie Cecile Vinonnet- Martin Day care crèche- 03rd November-After 02 months St.Martin’sShanthiNilayam with 12 sewing machines adjacent to the crèche –tailoring school- downtrodden women.

1972

Silver Jubilee of St.Joseph’s Anglo-Indian School.

1978

Higher Secondary building constructed.

1979

Higher Secondary building blessed by Bishop Thomas Fernando on 13th June,1979

1982

JOSA commenced.

1986

Centenary celebration of the arrival of 04 Missionary sisters to India-Novena was celebrated.

1988

Open Air Auditorium came to be used for Annual day-30th January,1988.

1989

Educate a child Project started with 700students in and around Trichy-16th November, 1992.

1992

600retired teachers received award -11th December,1992 by Mr.Ponnusamy, the then Minister of Education.

1996

Manikandam ground (3.6 acres) registered.

1999

Fund raised towards Kargil War-03rd May 1999-26th July, 1999.

Planning committee organised towards Centenary -16thAugust, 2000.
